Service Description

Experience the outdoors alongside one of our alpacas, walking them amongst the beautiful scenery surrounding Yew Tree Farm. Children cost £17.50 (age 8 and up), adults (age 12 and up) cost £30. Children must be accompanied by a full paying adult (18+) either also walking an Alpaca (£30) or as a spectator (£10 Adult). Participants will be walking on grass and muddy uneven farm land and so this is currently unsuitable for those who have trouble walking or those using a wheelchair or those with pushchairs. Please feel free to look at meet and greet options if mobility is restricted. What’s included: The walk will begin with a Health and Safety briefing to ensure everyone knows how to remain safe with their Alpaca during the experience. This will be followed by an introduction to Alpacas, some information about where they originate, what their diet is like, how their fleece works and some other tidbits most people don't know! Then alpaca walkers will spend a few moments getting to know their alpaca, feeding some treats and getting ready to walk. The walk will last around 45 minutes, however alpacas are quite curious animals and may want to explore their surroundings. There will be some extra time if required for taking photos and feeding treats. In order to remain safe (but mainly dry) you will need sturdy wellies or boots, warm clothes and a waterproof. No umbrellas please! Even if it is sunny outside, the ground may be wet and slippy. In summer we advise to bring and apply suncream and hats to protect your face/head. There will be refreshments available on site in the café to stay hydrated. Although we are not put off by rain, we reserve the right to reschedule bookings if we feel it is too extreme, or unsuitable for a walk. We're sorry but we cannot allow dogs to accompany during the walk. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of your experience. If you are more than 10 minutes late you will not be able to take part as you will have missed our mandatory Health & Safety talk. Please allow plenty of time for your journey as we would be unable to allow latecomers joining the walking group.
