Spinning Yarn and Making Memories: Our Day with Lazy Kate Textiles & The Woollers
Summer is officially here, and June brought us the perfect day of fiber, friendship and furry faces!
Artemis Alpacas and Cathy from Lazy Kate Textiles hosted a special Spinners Alpaca Day. A lovely group of very talented ladies from the Woollers. It was, quite simply, a beautiful day from start to finish.
Walking and Learning
Our day began out in the fresh air, getting up close and personal with the alpacas. Before we took them for our scenic walk around the lovely Ditton Fold Farm. We spent time getting to know their quirky personalities and learnt all about them and what makes these creatures so incredibly special.
Lunch with the Herd
After working up an appetite, it was time for lunch—with a twist! We enjoyed a delicious luncheon right alongside our alpaca friends. There is truly nothing quite like dining with a curious alpaca looking on.
From Fleece to Fiber
The afternoon was where the textile magic really happened. We rolled up our sleeves to assess the quality of the alpaca fleece, feeling the incredible softness and learning what to look for in high-quality fiber before relaxing and spending some time spinning the fleece.
